What is the
Book Swap?
It's a used book exchange for students at the Primary
and Intermediate Schools.
How do students participate?
Students bring used books in good condition to their
class between January 15th through the 25th. Students
receive one Book Buck coupon for each book turned in, with a
limit of ten (10) coupons given to each student. Extra
donated books are always welcomed and needed.
When do I get the Book Buck Coupons?
Teachers usually hand out the Book Buck coupons the day
before, or the day of the book swap to students.
How do I use the Book Bucks?
Students bring the Book Bucks to the book swap and pick
out new used books. Each book is worth one Book Buck
coupon.
Can I buy books without a Book Buck Coupon?
Yes, the last hour of the book swap, books will be
available for sale.
What happens to left over books?
The books are donated first to the school library, then
to teachers for classroom use. The Librarian then has
a process in place to donate any extra books.
How can I help?
Volunteers are needed the day and evening of the book
swap to help set up and sort the books, help swap the books
and help pack up after the swap. Please contact Sandy
Bishop 253-5323 if you are interested.
Other Information
We try to sort the books in categories to make shopping
easier. Books go very fast, the more books donated the
better selection we have for the students. Adult books
are also welcome (appropriate content). These books
are also sorted for swapping, and if available parents can
use their child's Book Bucks for swapping.
